Spring is my favorite time of year, professionally speaking. The temperature gets more pleasant before the heat of summer. We get to put away our rain gear (mostly). We get very busy, but busy is good; it makes the day go by faster, and it feels good to accomplish quality work. But my favorite part of spring is that I get to start killing stuff! Soon we will begin what we call our "special sprays." Herbicidally speaking, this means a wide range of unwanted vegetation will be squarely lining up in my spray gun sights.
We provide several vegetation control solutions and can assist you in choosing the one that's best for your situation! Below is our Vegetation Control "Special Spray Menu".
Round Up
Everyone pretty much understands what this is. We use this in flower beds to spot spray weeds, spray out existing lawns prior to renovation, and eliminate hard-to-mow areas. For those who are leery of the bad reputation Roundup has gotten (a subject for debate another time), we offer non-glyphosate alternatives that are just as effective.
·
Blackberry Spraying
Again, pretty self-explanatory. Spring is a great time to get on top of this fast-growing pest plant. Fall is an even better time, but most people don’t want to wait, have the blackberries grow and take over more areas, then deal with them.
·
Noxious Weeds
There are a number of noxious weeds prevalent in our area that Clark County requires the property owner to control: garlic mustard weed, tansy ragwort, Canada thistle, Japanese knotweed, and several others. We have the means and the know-how to do the job, be it in your backyard or your 20-acre field. And we are on Clark County's list of approved applicators.
·
Field/Pasture Weed Control
We have some really effective, very safe herbicides we can use in fields and pastures. They are so safe that grazing horses, cattle, sheep, or whatever don’t even have to be removed from the field during the application.
·
Vegetation Control
This is simply an application to remove all the unwanted vegetation at a particular site. We mostly do this at commercial properties, prior to their landscaping, to help keep weeds and grasses from establishing along with the new plantings. We also do residential properties as well.
·
Soil Sterilants
Ah, my personal favorite! This application is both a post and pre-emergent, long-term vegetation control. Usually, a once-a-year treatment is all that is needed. We do a lot of commercial, bare-ground applications that must remain vegetation-free for legal and/or safety reasons. We also do quite a few residential properties. Gravel driveways, fence lines, the edges of paved roads to prevent damage (there are a lot of plants that can push right through asphalt), almost anywhere you don’t want anything to grow can be treated.
